What do scientists and go-karts have in common? Easy - they both require fuel. But unlike those noisy machines, scientists don’t run on gasoline. They’re fueled by coffee. Lots of it.

Sadly, most scientists drink coffee brewed from dusty pods that have lingered in the breakroom since 2015.

Meet the Scientist Behind the Brew  

If Dr. Kyle Munson is in the lab, he’s drinking coffee. He’s also a new dad, so he’s drinking coffee outside the lab, too. A LOT of it. (The standard human body is 80% water but we’re pretty sure his is 80% coffee now.)

He started Lab Fuel in 2022 on a quest to combine his caffeine addiction with his chemistry background. Tired of chain and grocery store coffee (and the aforementioned forgotten coffee pods), he set out to find the perfect coffee formula. (And some sweet merch to go along with it.)

When he’s not drinking coffee*, Kyle can be found cheering on the Nittany Lions football team, working with lasers, beating his friends at Catan, and trying not to give in to telling Dad Jokes. 

*Just kidding. He does all these things while still drinking coffee.
